The WHO multi-country study on women’s health and domestic violence against women found the prevalence of physical intimate partner violence in pregnancy to range from 1% in Japan to 28% Perú with the majority of sites in the 4% and 12% range. Clinical studies around the world found the highest prevalence in Egypt with 32%, followed by India (28%), Saudi Arabia (21%) and México (11%).
