Inspired by the #MeToo movement, this photographic journey is…
of survivors for survivors.
Sadly, the brave women and girls appearing in this photographic journey have endured either sexual violence or harassment. The photographer & author of this book, Sandy Kelly Sameshima, who is a survivor of childhood incest, wanted to offer other survivors of sexual violence and harassment the opportunity to tell their stories through photographs. Many of the women and girls photographed in this book wish to help survivors and educate others on the effects of sexual violence and harassment.

“In this brilliant book, Sandy Sameshima uses moving and inspiring photographs to voice unspoken stories of sexual violence. This book sends powerful messages: Survivors will no longer be silent. Survivors are powerful. Survivors are not afraid. Survivors are not alone.”— Sheela Raja, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, author of The Sexual Trauma Workbook for Teen Girls
”As a survivor, clinician, advocate, speaker, media expert, and author on sexual trauma I was honored to be asked to participate in this powerful project. Sandy’s mission to help women heal through feeling less alone through the art of photography will inspire and motivate people to feel less alone and more connected. I’ve never seen anything like the Surviving Our Secrets book and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”— Kelley Kitley, Amazon bestselling author of MY self: An Autobiography of Survival
A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to the ‘me too’ movement.
